Hills District Netball Association (HDNA) coordinates winter competitions for the Junior age groups (10-15 years of age). Pennant Hills Netball Club brings together children from our local community to take part in the HDNA competition.

Teams are grouped according to age but sometimes there is a need to combine ages based on numbers enrolled at the Club.

Netball training occurs during the week (Monday-Thursday) generally for 1.5 hours and the day chosen depends on coach availability.

Due to this being a team sport flexibility to fit into coaches availability is important. Attendance at training and games is compulsory to ensure everyone has a positive playing experience.

Games are played on a Saturday morning.  Time slots start from 8:15am through till the last time slot ending at 1:00pm. Duration of games are for 1 hour plus breaks. Time slots per age/grade will be released by HDNA on 30th of March 2026 and then confirmed on Play HQ when fixtures are released on the 22nd of April 2026.

Registering to play for the 2026 Junior Winter Netball Competition takes place from 4th of December 2025 through to the 12th of February 2026.

To establish numbers, we encourage all Junior players to register early allowing time for the Club to recruit more players or close registrations when capacity is reached.

PHNC Grading Day will be held on Sunday 22nd February 2026 at Pennant Hills Park. Sessions will commence from 8:00 am through till 1pm. Please reserve the morning for netball grading.

Juniors (10-15yrs) will be graded by independent graders.

Junior participants attendance is compulsory so we can assess all our players to see which team they will be graded into.

Players must attend their correct age group, the age they are turning by the 31st of December 2026. (Regardless of what team they played in 2025), e.g. if you turn 13 on the 28th of February, you are trialing with the 13-year-old age group. If you do not turn up to your age group session, we will use the in-season paper grading reports only as a basis for placing you in the correct team.

If a player is unable to attend pre-season grading, an email must be forwarded to the Grading Committee c/- The Secretary two weeks prior to this day  pennanthillsnetballclub@gmail.com

A player who cannot attend Club Grading Day will be placed in a team according to paper grading and the player’s prior experience.

PARENTS please note:

Parents are reminded that the grading committee spends many hours creating team lists, prior to grading day, so graders can observe each child whilst they demonstrate their skill level.  Whilst your child may have been in the same team each year, we still require everyone to show up so we have evenly matched players against each other. This makes the process fair and enjoyable for all participants.

Detailed times will be sent out one week before grading day via email and placed on the club website.

When will my child know their team and training day?

Club teams will be announced by Pennant Hills Netball Club on Sunday, 8 March 2026. Coaches will contact team members via a WhatsApp group between Monday, 9 March 2026, and Wednesday, 11 March 2026. Please respond to this invitation so that training days and times can be arranged as soon as possible. We ask that you keep other extracurricular activities to a minimum until the coach has selected a training day, as many of our coaches have limited availability while balancing work and their own children’s schedules.

Team grades and times will be posted online by HDNA on 30 March 2026, and fixtures will be available on Play HQ by 22 April 2026.
